WAIRAKA DEFEATS UNITED IN FAST GAME A determined challenge by United was strongly repulsed by Wairaka in a fast and exciting senior rugby game at Whakatane Field on Saturday by 18 points to 6. Played in ideal conditions before a large crowd the match produced some sparkling football with United showing up well in the tight and in some back movements. Wairaka had an advantage with their better team work and general covering up, most of their tries coming from fast loose movements. tackling though both teams endeavoured to open play at every opportunity.
