Ruatoki Officer To Compile History of Maori Battalion

Field officer for the Department of Maori Affairs at Ruatoki, Mr M. Wihiripi, has been transferred to Wellington at the request of MajorGeneral H. Kippenberger, editor in chief of the New Zealand War History group, to take charge of compiling the history of the Maori Battalion during the last war. Mr Wihiripi will do most of the research and expects to be away in Wellington on the job for about a year. He commences work in his new position on September 12.
