FALLING DEMAND FOR SUPER IN N.I. SINCE JULY
North Island fertiliser works are perturbed at the serious falling off of,, orders for superphosphates since July. This position has reached the stage of one large works at least having to reduce its output and this will be general with North Island works very quickly unless a steady flow of orders is received.
The annual output from the fertiliser works is not sufficient for farmers’ full requirements and it is obvious that if orders are delayed—for whatever reasons—and the works are not kept going at full capacity it will not be possible to fill the orders when they are ultimately received.
The fertiliser works have limited storage capacity and it is important, in order that their output be kept to its maximum, to do all possible to encourage those people requiring superphosphate to get their orders in 41 .
