Those Cows Not What He Meant
A farmer’s co-operative society had sent a‘lecturer to a country town to call a meeting of farmers, with the object of urging them to keep only the very best breed of milking cows, and to discard all others. “You farmers must realise,” he emphasised, “that there are cows that will never pay.” “Yes,” snorted the village grocer “and this blinkin’ hall’s full of ’em.”
