Whakatane Borough Difficult To Run

The Whakatane Borough was very difficult to run financially be-' cause of the uneveness of the land valuation, said the Mayor, Mr B. S. Barry, a public meeting on Thursday night. However with the new revaluation, which was now being carried out by the Land Valuation Department, it was hoped to have these anomolies rectified. If they were not, Mr Barry said he was afraid that Whakatane would have to be rated very much higher in the future.
