No Mutton Eaten In Canada
“Canada is a strange country for sheep,” says a correspondent. “They are either killed young, as lambs, or they die a natural degth of old age or illness. No adult sheep, it apears, ever is killed for food. “Now in some other lands mutton is an important food. But in Canada we don't eat mutton. We eat lamb. The lambs are killed, presumably, after they have ceased to be little lambs and befora they become sheep. Those fortunate enough to pass this dangerous penod are assured of long life,”
