Huge Crowd Attends Football Dance
Many of the people who attended the football in the afternoon were present at the United Football Club’s dance at the Whakatane Winter Show Building on Saturday night where they had the Australian and Bay of Plenty rugby players as their guests. It was one of the largest crowds seen at a dance in the district for many years and it is estimated that the figure was well over 800. The winners of the monte carlo were Mr and Mrs S. McMillan. Music was played by Freddie Burt’s orchestra and Miss D. Stewart and Mr G. Paterson played extras. Mir P. Dixon was M.C.
