TYSSEN SETS NEW EANGE KECOKD

On Thursday evening the Legion Rifle Club was successful in defeating its two challengers, A.T.C. and Beacon. Team scores: —

Legion Club ‘A’ Team: C. Bathe 94, Mrs Critchley 92, R. Thompson 91, R. King 85, R, Bell 83, A. Baker 76, D. Baker 75, A. Bradshaw 74. Total 670

A.T.C.: Brodie 91, Dodds 90, Reynolds 89, Curran 76, Hunter 72, Kirk 66, Kane 52, Tunui 45. Total 581. Legion Club ‘B’ Team: W. Tyssen 97, D. Stewart 89, Mrs E. Bathe 88, E. R. Hunt 75, A. G. Judd 72, E. Middlemas 64, B. Needham 64. W. Addison 47. Total 596.

Beacon Team: J. Jessop 86, L. Stewart 84, Francis 79, ' Miss A. Bathe 72, Mf"Corrigan 69, G. Koea 57, B. Baskin 44, R. Mercer 25 Total 526.

Scores of other Club members: B. Boon 87, Mrs Bradshaw 53, W. Addison 47, J. Baker 39, R. Spong 35 B. Furze 20.

During the shoot Mrs Critchley was presented with the medal she won at Cambirdge as Waikato Women’s Champion, and Miss A. Bathe with the Howat Cup which she has won for the second time in succession.

The evening’s Club trophies, which are shot for on handic ip basis, were won by R.' Thompson, seniors, and R. Bell, juniors.

W. Tyssen, shot an exceptionally good score of 97.5, setting a new record for the highest score on the Club range. In the “Own Start” sweepstake, •R. King and R. Thompson tied, and R. King was successful in the shoot off.
