TOWN PLANNING

Sir, —I am glad to see that our Borough Council is now discussing a plan for the Whakatane .of clre future. It has struck me by the reports appearing in the Beacon that the Council is very interested in this planning and are not going to rush into the scheme without first seeing that what is done will be' for the eventual good of Whakatane. 1 1 too support the. suggestion for the new traffic bridge to be built further down the river to Hinemoa Street. I would also like to see the road to the town around the water- , front as I think it would be a wonderful advantage and would make a great attraction. I wish the Borough Council well in this direction and I hope their” efforts will bear fruit. Yours etc., D. CORNE.
