Australian Rugby Team Arrives At Whakatane Tomorrow

The touring Australian rugby team is expected to arrive at Whakatane at about 4.30 p.m. tomorow from Tokaanu. They will stay at the Commercial Hotel and are expected to leave at about 8.30 a.m. on Monday. The team will practise at Whakatane Field on Friday and play Bay of Plenty on Saturday afternoon.

After'the game on Saturday there will be a banquet for both teams and in the evening the teams are to be the guests at the United Football Club’s dance in the Winter Show Building. During their stay at Whakatane the Australians will have . free passes to all picture sessions and a bus has been placed at their disposal by McComb and Company. It is expected that the team will be taken on a tour of the Whakatane Board Mills and the Rangitaiki Dairy Factory if any players so desire.

On Sunday the team will be entertained by the Whakatane Rotary Club which has arranged an all day picnic to the state forests at Kaingaroa. If it should be wet at all the team will be entertained at Whakatane.

The Bay of Plenty team is to gather at Whakatane on Friday.
