Narrow Escape After Falling 300 Feet On A Tractor
When a tractor he was driving at about 10 a.m. Sunday fell over a cliff for about 300 feet Mr Owen Rayner, aged 32, married, farmer, of Opotiki, suffered only shock and a dislocated elbow. He was admitted to the Opotiki- hospital .but his condition is now reported to'be satisfactory. Mr Rayner was feeding out on the farm of Mr W. J. Thompson, Paerata Ridge, Opotiki, when the ground gave way beneath the tractor. The vehicle, with Mr Raynor, fell some 300 feet to the beach below ,and was smashed beyond repair. A trailer attached to the -tractor was also completely wrecked.
