Edgecumbe Red Cross Sub-Centre

The monthly meeting of the Edgecumbe sub-centre of Red Cross was held in the supper room at the Central Theatre on Thursday, Mrs T. G. Roberts presiding. Members had a busy time sewing and cutting garments, quite a number being completed and ready for despatch to the Centre for distribution. The president reported on the results of the appeal for footwear. The response had been most satisfactory, the children from the satismary school having contributed approximately 15 pairs all of which were in good condition. One parcel of clothing which was most welcome had also been given from the school. Arrangements were made for the next meeting, which is to be on ? September 8.
