H.S.A. Meeting Well Attended

There was a good attendance at Thursday night’s meeting of the Eastern Bay of Plenty branch of the Home Servicemen’s Association, at which Mr C. Ricketts, area councillor was present to answer many questions regarding rehabilitation, and to give information on the general activities of the Association. Mr R. Spong presided.

Remits for the annual conference to be held at Wellington at the end of the month, dealing with rehabilitation, pensions, housing and farming and administration, including the question of the eligibility of J. Force personnel for membership were considered. The meeting also selected teams with the object of issuing a challenge to shoot against members of the Legion of Frontiersmen, and final arrangements were made concerning the proposed film evening on August 25. Several of those present had come long distances to attend, and the chairman remarked that such evidence of enthusiasm was gratifying, and he trusted that such interest in Association matters would be sustained. The support of the rank and file, he said, was the best possible incentive for the committee to carry on its schemes for the revival.,of this branch of the Association to full activity.
