Fishermen Reach Whakatane Safely
The party of fishermen in the launch Toi, which left Opotiki last Saturday night on a short fishing trip, arrived at Whakatane on Tuesday after encountering rough seas. At one stage it was too rough for the craft to make any headway and shelter was obtained off Whale Island until the seas calmed enough for it to make Whakatane. All fo ar occupants were none tfye worse for the extended fishing trip.
