Billets Arranged For Schoolboys By Taneatua W.I.

Billets were’ arranged by the monthly meeting of the Taneatua Women’s Institute for several' of the school boys who will be visiting the district for the school rugby “tournament to be held during the holidays.

The president, Mrs Grey, congratulated Mrs Tebbutt, who was judged best actress at the Drama Festival at Taneatua and to members of the Drama Circle, who gain, ed first place in the drama section and second in the comedy class. Letters of thanks were to be sent to Messrs Goodhew, A. McGougan and L. Penny for their assistance in preparing the stage for the festival.

A letter was read from the Engli 5b link and it was decided to send three months parcels together so that every member of the link would have a little extra for Christmas, dried fruits to be sent as well as the usual fat.

The competition “tearing an elephant out of newspaper,” judged by popular vote, produced some weird and wonderful looking animals and was won by Mrs Shaw. The evening concluded with community singing.
