Gladiolus Should Be Planted In Time For Annual Show
With the annual gladiolus show to be held early in December exhibitors should plant to have their blooms at their best at that time, it was stated at the annual meeting of the Whakatane Giadiolus Society. In heavy soils planting should be done at about ten day intervals, commencing about the middle of this month. Much of the success encountered in gladiolus growing is the depth bulbs are planted. In heavy s<3il a depth of at least four inches is necessary but in the light sandy loam as deep as eight inches. It was decided to reduce the subscription, which last year was 10/6 to 5/-.
