Indoor Basketball

TOMORROW’S TOURNAMENT HAS GOOD ENTRIES

Tomorrow teams from Rotorua, Gisborne and Wairoa will be attending the annual tournament of the Whakatane Indoor Basketball Association in the winter show building. Commencing in the morning blay will continue all day with both men’s and women’s teams. So large are entries that it- is not expected to play the finals until about 8 p.m. Special trophies have been made available for annual competition but this will be the first year that they, will 'have been competed for. The amazing strides indoor basketball has made at Whakatane m the ‘"last few years has been well mirrored in the performance of local teams at outside tournaments. To- vmorrow’s meeting will be the only chance followers of the game at Whakatane will have of seeing the teams in action on the home courts.
