Annual Welcome Dance At Thornton

A chance for the older settlers at Thornton to meet the newer settlers was given at the recent welcome dance organised by the scouts and the Young Farmers’ Club of the district in the Thornton Hall recently. There was a large crowd and Mr P. E. J. Broadmore welcomed the newcomers to the district on behalf of the Young Farmers’ Club. A similar welcome was extended by Mr W. Arbuckle for the scouts. Mr A. Adams expressed the hope that the new settlers would taken an active interest in the district’s activities.
