Some fine games were produced in the inter-association table tennis meeting between Tauranga and Matatua (Whakatane) at Tauranga on Saturday night when Matatua lost by the narrow margin of 22 matches to 26. Teams of six men anl six women travelled from Whakatane. ,

The main game was between the two top men of each association, F. Paton (Matatua) and L. Brewer (Tauranga), with the former winning two of the three games 21—10. 21—12 and 15—21. Another fine performance was put up by the Matatua 14 year old player, Kupe Keepa, who won all her three singles matches.
