WORLD HEALTH DAY

Today, July 22, is World Health Day—a day being celebrated in various ways all over the world to mark the third . anniversary of the signing of the constitution of the United Nations specialised agency, the World Health Organisation.' The Minister of Health, Miss M. Howard, in a statement explaining the significance of this first World Health Day, said its purpose is to remind the peoples of the world of the goal the 62 member nations of WHO have set themselves—to ensure to every human being the highest possible level of health. It is a day, too, to remind individual citizens in these countries of their responsibilities in helping to attain this important objective.
