RANGITAIKI PRIMARY SCHOOL SPORTS TRIALS
At Edgecumbe School on Tuesday were gathered the best of Rangitaiki’s primary school footballers and basketball players to take part in an all-day tournament for the purpose of a day’s sport and the picking of Rangitaiki representative teams in both sports. The day was a most successful one; six Rangitaiki schools being represented, and a high standard of play in both football and basketball being produced by the school pupils. The following players have been selected to play in a Possibles v Probables Rugby Trial at Edgecumbe today at 1 p.m.:—

Basketball Some very close and exciting games were witnessed in all sections of the basketball. Matata A won the A Section with Edgecumbe and Te Teko very close behind.
Te Teko B won all its matches in the B Section as did Matata in the Midget (under 4’ 8”) section. The high standard of basketball in the Midget section was a happy augury for the future. Results:—
