Edgecombe Red Cross Sub-Centre
The monthly meeting of the Edgecumbe Sub-Centre Red Cross was held at the home of Mrs H. M. Carter, Edgecumbe, and took the form of a sewing afternoon. Mrs T. G. Roberts was in the chair. There was a good attendance, and quite a number of garments were cut and made. Mrs D. G. Hawkins was elected secretary, and Mrs H. M. Carter vice-presijdent. Committee, Mesdames H. S. Mexted, A. E. Hawken, L. Martin, W. E. Goldsmith. Mr D. Meikle’s generous offer of the hire of the supper room and cupboard of the hall was accepted. The certificate signed by Their Majesties, which has been awarded the pdgecumbe Sub-Centre in recognition of services rendered during the war years is to be suitably framed and hung in the Foyer of the Central Theatre.
The secretary was instructed to write a letter of thanks to Mr Meikle for the help, he is so willingly giving the Society.
