Theatre Renovations Improve Screenings

Recent renovations in the Regent Theatre, Whakatane, have resulted in improved screenings; of films. Although no big alterations were carried out these repairs are just in the line of check ups which are made every two or three years. Painting in the interior has brightened the auditorium considerably and improved the appearance. Possibly the most important work has been done to the projection cameras and the screen. The cameras have been overhauled and new lenses added while the screen has been considrably enlarged. The net result is that films are being screened with more clarity and are considered to be more on a pair with reproductions in city theatres.
