P.T.A. Concert At Edgecumbe Was Great Success

The concert arranged by the Edgecumbe Parent-Teacher Association was performed to a large and appreciative audience on Thursday evening at the Central, Theatre, Edgecumbe. Mr lan Gow, M.C., in opening the programme explained some of the activities of the Association. Mr H. Quayle, president, was stage manager. Items were given by:-^-

Opening Chorus: School children (Waltzing Matilda, Clementine, Hi Ho the Morning Dew); humorous monologue, Mr E. G. Anderson; pianoforte solo, Miss Shona MacDonald (To The Spring); instrumental trio, Messrs A. Blake, H. Sopdell, E. G. Anderson; monologue, Marjorie Hawkins; highland fling, Anne Sullivan; solo, Judy Ferguson; play, Edgecumbe Women’s Institute Drama Club, Mesdames McLean, Pearce, Yardley (To One Woman to Another); pianoforte duet, Dorothy and Anthony Thompson; dance duo, Misses P. Ferguson and Black; vocal items, Edgecumbe Women’s Institute Choir; pianoforte solo, Mr Church; a farce in one act, Miss P. Ferguson and Co.; vocal solo, Mrs N. Carter; Irish jig, Barbara Cole; instrumental trio, Messrs A. Blake, H. Sopdell, E. G. Anderson; cello solo, Mr Anderson; vocal duet, Misses J. Ferguson and Esma Hunter.
