Footwear Needed For Displaced Persons
Displaced persons from Europe recently arrived at the Pahiatua' receiving camp are urgently in need of footwear for babies and juveniles of both sexes up to 16 years of age. Red Cross Headquarters are organising an appeal, and have wired the Eastern Bay of Plenty Centre seeking its co-operation. A receiving and forwarding depot has been established at the Red Cross Rooms, • Whakatane, and footwear can be left there on Fridays up till the first week in August. Donations to purchase new footwear may be sent to the Centre’s secretary, Mrs A. W. Winstone, 5 Victoria Avenue, who advises .that all donations in kind or in cash will be gratefully received. P.B.A.
