N.Z. Dried Milk To Gold Coast
Some time ago the Red Cross in New Zealand received a a request from the Gold Coast Branch of the British Red Cross at Accra pointing out the acute position in regard to milk products for infants and asking that a supply be sent. Following the request, eight cases of evaporated milk were dispatched to the British Red Cross for transhipment to the. Gold Coast.
Through the British Red Cross this has been gratefully acknowledged, it being pointed out that the Branch in the Gold Coast is carrying out a wide programme of maternity and child welfare work. Further, that the gift is doubly welcome as fresh milk is unobtainable in West Africa and tinned milk is very difficult and expensive to obtain.
