Occupation Of Six New State Houses Expected In August

About four or five of the new houses at present under construction in the new state house block in Stewart Street, Whakatane, are expected to be ready for occupation i by the end of July or early ivji August. One, a four bedroomecH

dwelling, is to be ready by the end of this month.

The tilers have completed most of the roofs while most of the exterior wall boarding is nearing completion on most of the houses. Carpenters have almost finished interior work on four while another two are well advanced. Work has still to be done by the plumbers, electricians and painters. At present it is hoped to have about six houses occupied by August and the remaining six as soon as possible afterwards.
