Successful Clearing Sales
The New Zealand Loan and Mer-
cantile Agency Co. Ltd. report having held a most successful clearing sale on account of Mr W. Black on his property at Kopuriki. Mr Black’s high producing herd and heavilybacked heifers came before the public in excellent sale order and condition and certainly merited the high prices gained throughout the sale. There was a very full and representative bench of buyers present from all parts of the Bay of Plenty andbidding was spirited throughout. Dairy cows ranged in pfice from £l7 to £3O, whilst the rising 2-year heifers varied from £l4 to £2B, these two lines together attaning the very high average of close on £2O per head.

This sale was very well attended and commanded a full bench of buyers from many parts of the Bay. The dairy herd and heifers came before the public in first class a.der and condition and competition was keen and spirited throughout the offering, prices maintaining a very high level. Farm implements and 'machinery also offered met with a keen demand and values reached in this class were also very satisfactory. The dairy cows sold at prices ranging- from £l4 10s to £22 10s, with a high average throughout whilst the heifers also met with ready competition realising from £l3 to £2O per head.
