Matata W.I. Meeting Sees Demonstration

Each month members are to bring articles for the community chest it was decided at the monthly meeting of the Matata Women’s Institute presided over by the president, Mrs R. Withy. These articles will be hung on a Christmas tree during an institute Christmas party.

Keen interest was shown in a demonstration work by Mrs Withy, who showed examples of the work stage by stage. Hostesses for the day were Mesdames Dredge and Parkinson. Competition results:— Best flower, Mrs Smith 1, Mrs Warbrick 2, Mrs Taylor 3; best vegetable, Mrs Taylor 1; white coat hanger, Mrs Smith 1, Mrs Withy 2, Mrs Dredge 3; white spray, Mrs Laugison 1; apple short cake, Mrs Taylor 1, Mrs Smith 2; 33 bowl, Mrs Smith 1.
