Rod And Gun Club “Smoko”
Though the attendance was lamentably small in comparison with the number invited, those who attended the County Rod and Gun Club’s men’s smoke concert on Saturday night had every reason to enjoy the evening thoroughly. Tables were well served with .fish and game, plus the necessary lubricants, and music and mirth were provided by Messrs H. Waite, Jack Henry, L. King, J. Carpenter and A. Hopgood. The toast list: “The King”; “Rod and Gun Club”, Mr B. S. Barry Mr W. Howat; “Department 6f Internal Affairs” Mr J. D. Rivett, Mr K. Francis; “N.Z. Gun Clubs’ Association”, Mr R. Ricketts, Mr W. C. Davies; “Sister Clubs”, Mr C. L. Hudson; “The Ladies”, Mr R. Morgan, Mr A. Mitchell; “Artists, Helpers and Donors”, Mr A. W. Jones. Mr J. Carpenter.
