Tonnage Handled By Whakatane Harbour

Although handling the same number of ships, 22, as Tauranga for the three months ending in March, the net tonnage handled by Whakatane is slightly smaller although the total manifest tonnage handled equals that of Tauranga and Opotiki combined, it was reported to the monthly meeting of the Whakatane Harbour Board. The figures for the net tonnage are Tauranga 3,803 tons, Whakatane 2,308, and Opotiki 814 for eight vessels. In the manifest tonnage Whakatane was well ahead with 8,717 tons, Tauranga 6,330 tons and Opotiki with 2,160 tons.
