Popular Theatre Doorman Leaving

Object of a social evening at the Regent Theatre was to say farewell to Mr Fred Skelton (who has been doorman at the Grand Theatre for the past eight years) and Mrs Skelton. At present employed by Armstrong and Co. Ltd., Mr Skelton is leaving soon to go to Auckland. Members of the staff of the Regent and • the Grand, with their wives, assembled to wish the guests of honour the best of luck in the future, and they were presented with an electric clock as a memento of their association with the thectres here. Music was provided by Messrs A Seebeck and R. McDonald.

Mr Skelton’s genial personality will be missed from the Grand, where his tactful manner and cheery greeting have done much to make patrons feel truly welcome.
