Whale Island Campers Back

The party of campers who have been marooned on Whale Island for the past few days were brought back to Whakatane in the Port Whakatane by Captain G. Carey about 7 o’clock this morning, bedraggled, keen on a hot meal, but little the worse for their extended holiday. Captain Carey took . the launch out over a rough sea yesterday morning, and managed to make a landing and get the party aboard, but after several attempts had to give up the idea of getting- in again yesterday. They spent a rough night at sea.

After dropping his passengers, , Captain Carey went back this ing to try to pilot in the two coasters which have been trying to make an entrance since last week, and had been sheltering at Tauranga since y Sunday, returning here yesterday.
