Farewell Dance At Waimana

Mr and Mrs R. Proffit and Miss Proffit of Nukuhou North, were fare welled at a dance held in the V/aimana Hall recently. They are leaving for Auckland next week. King’s Orchestra supplied the dance music, and Mr- A. Bell played the supper extra. The novelty dances were quite popular. The Lucky Spot Fox Trot was won by Mrs Des Wc-olfield and Mr J. McLean, Novelty , Monte Carlo, Mrs G. Hughes end Mr J. Cranswick.

Mr. N. Eagle made an efficient M.C. and kept the dance going with a swing. After supper, Mr J. L. Burnett, on behalf of all the guests’ friends of Waimana and Nukuhou North, expresed his regret at having to say farewell to Mr and Mrs Proffit, who have lived in the district for many years, Mr Proffit being a most successful farmer and always ready to help with any public functions. Mr Burnett asked Mrs Proffit to accept a gift from all and presented Mr Proffit with a cheque. Mr Proffit, on behalf of Mrs Proffit, thanked all for the pleasant evening and gifts, all being greatly appreciated. Hrs Proffit and Miss Proffit were also the recipients of lovely bouquets of flowers.
