‘What’s the big celebration on the 4th of July?” young Johnny, brushing up some dates before he went back to school, asked his Dad the other day. “The Hunt Club Ball,” answered the horse-minded parent without a moment’s hesitation. “Why do you want to know?”
“Well, I had an idea there was something important on that date.” “My lad, if you don’t think the Hunt Club Ball is important,” we do,” Mum chipped in. “Its going to be the brightest night of the whole winter!”—P.B.A.
