Edgecumbe Institute’s May Meeting.
The May meeting of the Edgecumbe Women’s Institute was held in the Presbyterian Hall, Mrs R. Ferguson, vice-president, was in the chair.
Mrs Print, of Whakatane, gave a most interesting and instructive demonstration of cake icing, and was accorded a hearty vote of thanks, and presented with a shoulder spray.
Baby Clark was given a Bank Book, and Mrs Yardley a birthday spray.
Mrs A. Teasdale who is to leave on a visit to. England shortly, was presented with an Institute spoon, and a shoulder spray.
Hostesses were Mesdames A. McLean, D. Thomson, O.'A. Marx, C. Carter, Colebrook. Competitions: Victorian posy: Mrs A. Blake 1, Mrs K. Magee 2, Mrs D. G. Hawkins 3. Coat hanger: Mrs Wilson 1, Mrs Blake 2. Sponge: Mrs Magee 1, Mrs L. Martin 2, Mrs Blake 3. Flower: Mrs D. G. Hawken 1, Mrs Blake 2, Mrs J. Crang 3. Vegetable: Mrs Crang 1, Mrs Magee 2.
