Edgecumbe Successes In Musical Festival

Several successes were gained by entrants from Edgecumbe in the Rotorua Festival Competitions last week. An understanding perform- : ance of Pouper Valsant by Poldiru I gained Dorothy Thompson first place and high praise from the adjudicator, Mr S. Oliver, Wellington, in the pianoforte solo under 12 I years, own selection, j Second place in the piano solo ' test, under 10 years, was gained by Anthony Thompson, while in the class song and accompanist, both i under 12 years, Katherine Jones j and Dorothy Thompson were third.
