Seagulls Enjoyed Themselves Anyway

Evidently caught and drowned in the overflow of water several animals floated down the rivers during the last few days. A bunch of seagulls thoroughly enjoyed the misfortunes of one cow and, quite ! unperturbed over the speed they ! were being swept down the Whakatane River, they fought, fed and argued over the choicest portions i of the dead beast.

! When last seen they were head- ■ ing downstream at' the same breakneck speed and still fighting over the free meat.
