Annexe Nurses’ Dance Was A Success
The annexe block of the Whakatane District Hospital will benefit considerably from a dance held by the annexe nurses last week in the King Street Hall. It was attended by well over 200 people and over £6O was collected at the door. A gaily decorated hall and a friendly atmosphere gave the dance a festival atmosphere and several novelty dances added to the fun.
Supper was one of the highlights. A home-made spread donated by nurses and many interested people provided one of the most delicious suppers yet made available at f a dance at Whakatane.
v Extras were played by Miss D. Stewart (piano), and Messrs D. and G. Paterson. Dr A. F. Cole was M.C.
The official party included: Miss K. Miller, Dr R. and Mrs Akel, Dr F. J. Appleby, Dr E. and Mrs Hefford. Competition results:—
Toaster, Mrs Law, Matata; bedside lamp, Phillip Reid, Whakatane; cigarettes, Mr C. S. Comiskey, Whakatane.
