TABLE TENNIS SEASON OPENS TOMORROW

In most centres in New Zealand there are table tennis clubs and the sport is growing stronger every year. The standard of play is particularly high and local players have been able to hold their own with overseas visitors. Enthusiasts or anybody interested are well catered for at Whakatane with the Matatua Table Tennis Association, which opens the new season at 7 o’clock tomorrow evening in the Winter Show Building.

Competition matches and exhibition games will be played and anyone interested can take up the sport by attending the opening. Expert coaching is being given by Mr F. Paton, who is a former New Zealand champion and several times singles champion of the North Island, now residing at Whakatane.
