Mr W. Sullivan Will Contest Seat Again At Next Elections
Mr W. Sullivan, Whakatane, sitting member was unanimously confirmed as the National Party candidate for the Bay of Plenty seat at this year’s elections by delegates to the annual meeting of the Bay of Plenty Electorate Committee of the New Zealand National Party at Whakatane on Saturday night. About 100 delegates, representing 27 branch committees, attended the meeting, which was presided over by the chairman, Mr D. C. Butler. In an address to delegates Mr Butler said that the Party membership was, growing steadily and preparations were now well forward for the election this year. The electorate secretary, Mr K. Welch, also spoke of the Party’s work during the past year. Officers elected: —
