Farewell Evening At Edgecumbe

A pleasant evening in the Presbyterian Hall was spent on Monday when the residents of Edgecumbe gathered to farewell Mr and Mrs H. Woollett and their family, who are leaving this week for Putaruru. The Progressive Association, Scouts and School Committees and Presbyterian Church members combined in arranging the evening’s presentations.

Mr Woollett was presented with a suitcase, Mrs Woollett a crystal vase and the three children a book each.

Speakers were, Rev J. H. Starnes, Messrs H. Anderson, H. Woollett, W. Murray, Rolf Withy, H. W. Ward. Items were given by Mr H. Lopdell (pianoforte solos), Edgecumbe W.I. choir, Miss Jill Lockyer (vocal solos), Mrs I. Hepburn (humorous monologues), Otakiri W.I. choir.
