Fire Alarm in Blackout
It has been pointed out by the secretary of the Whakatane Fire Board, Mr D. V. Saunders, that this town’s fire alarm system is an allelectric one, so that the pushing of the button in a call box during a power cut would not get results. Should a fire occur at such a time, the person wanting to give the alarm should go to the nearest telephone and ring the exchange, from which a call will be put out .to the Brigade. •
