Miss New Zealand Quest, 1949
With 14 nominations received, the Miss New Zealand Quest has already attracted more entrants than did the 1947 quest at the corresponding stage. Wellington has produced the biggest number of entries so far, with four girls competing. Invercargill is second on the list, with three entries, and Christchurch third, with two. New Plymouth, Hamilton, Dannevirke, Palmerston North and Auckland each have one entry. The closing date of the contest, originally April 30, has how been extended to May 31.
