Championship Was Of Benefit To Gun Club
The efforts of the club delegate to the last annual conference of the New Zealand Gun Club’s Association, Mr W. C. Davies, in obtaining the North Island Championship for Whakatane was referred to at the annual meeting of the Whakatane County Rod and Gun Club last week. It was stated that the event had been of great benefit to the club.
To shoot off for the Ces Timbs Memorial Pigeon, the Rivett Novice Cup and the Mrs Matchitt Cup it was decided to hold a club shoot on Sunday. Officers elected:—
Patron, Mr W. G. Howat; president, Mr J. D. Rivett; vice-presi-dents, Messrs C. L. Hudson, R. S. Ricketts; secretary-treasurer, Mr R. F. Morgan; committee, Messrs W. Hume, W. Kenyon, W. A. W. Jones, J. Plamus, A. Mitchell, J. Butler, J. Tebbutt, K. Tebbutt; hon. vet., Mr A. Thomson; hon. auditor, Mr H. G. Warren; hon. solicitor, Mr B. S. Barry; club captain, Mr J. Tebbutt.
