Obituary

GEOFFREY LEONARD NEEDHAM

As a result of serious injuries suffered in a motor accident at Gisborne on Thursday Geoffrey Leonard Needham, eldest son of Mr and Mrs L. Needham, Goulstone Road, Whakatane, died in the Gisborne Hospital on Sunday. Aged only 19 years Mr Needham had been educated at Pahiatua and Whakatane. When he left school at Whakatane he went to work at the Whakatane Board Mills but about eight months ago left to take up a position with the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Coy. Ltd., Gisborne. Mr Needham had been keen on all sport and was an accomplished carver. He was very well known at Whakatane.
