ROWERS HAVE SUCCESSFUL CLOSING DAY

A large crowd attended the closing day of the Whakatane Rowing Club on Saturday when the programme took the form of a yankee tournament. With six crews competing 15 races were rowed off and some close finishes were witnessed.

Winning all five of its races the successful crew for the Mick Armstrong Memorial Cup was M. Brown (stroke), E. Hunt (3), G. Dr ay son (2), T. Reed (bow), T. Reed, jnr. (cox).
