Dance Held In Honour Of Teacher

The appreciation of the work of 'Miss June Savage during her short period on the staff of the Waimana 'Primary School. was shown by the residents of Waimana and North in a pleasant dance held in the Waimana Hall. Miss Savage is to be married shortly to Mr ■ D. 'White. ’ ’

Gifts were presented to Miss Savage by Mr N. Eagle on behalf of the .residents of the district and the ■ school committee. Mr White replied on behalf of Miss Savage. A Morite Carlo waltz was won by iMrs M. King and Mr N. Eagle.

Mr Dennis Black was M.C. SCHOOL FAREWELL Miss Savage was also farewelled ..at an afternoon by pupils and.teachers o.f the Waimana. School. She was presented with a posy by Raewyn Mitchell' and a set of useful " household utensils from the children and teachers, Mr Potter and .Miss Wardlaw, by Bertha McLean. Items were given by the children.
