Lionel Barrymore Walks Again
Lionel Barrymore, who said recently he would be able to walk again, took his first steps this week in nearly ten years. And the veteran actor did it the hard way too, by walking up a flight of .eight stairs to board a 45-ton vessel which 20th Century-Fox constructed for “Down to the Sea in Ships.” The only help he had came from holding on to the railing. Barrymore, who has one of the starring roles in the sea picture, said, however, that it will probably be several months before he can do away completely with his wheel chair and crutches.
