English May Become World Language
There are indications abroad that English was being adopted as the international language of the world, says Sir John Dudley Medley, ViceChancellor of Melbourne University, back from the UNESCO World Conference at Utrecht, Holland. Interpreting difficulties became intolerable at the international conference at times, he said. If English became the lingual conqueror, one of the major obstacles to world understanding would be removed.
